(Yicai Global) March 29 -- Shanghai reported seven more new imported novel coronavirus cases yesterday, bringing the eastern Chinese financial hub's total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 492 as of yesterday, the city's health commission said this morning.

Among the new additions, six are Chinese citizens, including a couple who traveled from German, and the other one is the US national, according to the commission.

Three Chinese citizens arrived in Shanghai from the UK and one from Ireland, while the American left the US, the commission said.

Authorities have traced 52 people who had been in contact with these infected persons during their journeys and placed them under quarantine, it added.

Some 13 suspected cases, also involving people who have recently been overseas, are undergoing further tests.

No new local cases or suspected domestically transmitted cases were reported yesterday, according to the commission.

Shanghai so far has reported a total of 492 confirmed Covid-19 cases. Among the 153 imported cases, 146 patients are being treated at the hospital, including three in serious condition, while seven have been discharged upon recovery, the commission said.

Among the city's 339 lcoal cases, five patients have died, six in critical condition, and one is stable, while 327 have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital, the commission noted.
